Am I a registered childminder?
Yes, I am a childminder who is registered with Ofsted on both the voluntary and compulsory parts of the childcare register. My Ofsted registration certificate is available to view during your childminding registration visit.
Am I a police cleared childminder?
I have had an enhanced Criminal records bureau check and have a copy of this to show prospective parents during your childminding registration visit.
Am I the childminder and my childminding setting inspected?
Yes, I am inspected by Ofsted every 3 years.
What are the possible outcomes of a childminding inspection?
The possible outcomes are: outstanding, good, satisfactory and un-satisfactory.
What was the outcome of my last childminding inspection?
When I previously worked as a childminder. my childminding practice was graded as good. My previous childminding inspection report is available to view in the downloads section.
Am I an insured childminder?
Yes I have public liability insurance in place, which has been specially tailored towards a childminding setting. A copy of my certificate is available for you to view at your childminding registration visit.
Am I a childminder trained in first aid?
Yes I am fully trained in paediatric first aid. A refresher course needs to be taken every three years and a new updated certificate issued.
How many children am I registered to child mind for at any one time?
I am registered to provide childcare for six children, three aged under five years and three between the ages of five and eight years. My childminding assistant is also registered to provide childcare for six children.
Am I a member of Pacey?

Do I offer my childminding services to parents who’s childcare is paid for through college or university?
What happens if I the childminder am ill?
My childminding assistant will provide childcare in my absence. If this isn’t possible you will not be charged for any day that I am unable to offer my childminding service.
What happens if you or your child are unable to attend my childminding setting?
Despite your absence, you will still be expected to pay your usual childminding fees on any days of absence (including absence due to sickness), as I am unable to fill any short term childminding spaces.
What happens if your child is ill?
If your child is too ill to attend or cannot be admitted due to having an infectious illness. You will still be expected to pay your usual childminding fees on any days of absence, as I am unable to fill any short term childminding spaces.
What happens, if I the childminder, go on holiday?
I will ensure that you are given six weeks notice prior to taking any holidays. You will not be charged for days when I am unable to offer my childminding service.
What happens if you go on holiday?
I will expect confirmation of any planned holidays in writing. Any absence due to holidays will be charged at your usual rate.
Do I provide my childminding service on bank holidays?

How do I secure my child’s childminding place?
A £30 deposit will be required to secure your child’s childminding place.
What happens if I decide I don’t want the childminding place?
If you decide not to take up the childminding place once the paperwork is signed, the childminding deposit will not be refunded.
